International Symposium - Translation - Crossroads of Cultures

TSU Institute of Translation and Literary Relations Faculty of Humanities, Institute of Oriental Studies, University of Tehran Faculty of Literature and Humanities, and Institute of Oriental Studies of Krakow Jagiellonian University (within the framework of Inter-University Collaboration Memorandum) will hold the International Symposium- Translation- Crossroads of Cultures on November 9-10, 2020. This year's symposium will be dedicated to the 85th birthday of famous Georgian writer, Orientalist, translator, folklorist and critic, Professor Vakhushti Kotetishvili.
According to the decision of the Symposium Organizing Committee, in 2020 the event is planned to be held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in Georgia, in 2021 at Tehran University and in 2022 at Krakow University.
This format of the Symposium will promote the popularization and internationalization of the fields of Oriental and Translation Studies in the Humanities; Deepening and supporting communication between scientists of different generations; As well as establishing links with foreign colleagues.

The main topic of this year's symposium is Translation Studies. Considering the areas of Vakhushti Kotetishvili's work, the following sections will also work:

Literary studies
Folklore
Cultural Studies

Working languages: Georgian, English.
Time Limit:
Presentation - 20 minutes;
Discussions- 10 minutes;

Applicants must register before September 15, 2020. Speakers will be notified of the acceptance of abstracts on October 10, 2020.

Registration Fee is required for speakers of the Symposium:

For Georgian speakers - 100 GEL;
For foreign speakers - 100 Euros
For Georgian co-authors (two authors) - 120 GEL;
For foreign co-authors - 120 Euros;
For Georgian PhD students - 60 GEL;
For foreign PhD students - 60 Euros.

Registration fee includes:

Attendance on the Symposium Opening Ceremony - November 9, 2020;
Attendance at all symposium sessions - November 9-10, 2020;
Printing of symposium program / materials, proceedings and certificates;
Lunch break.
The registration fee must be paid before October 15, 2020.
